Richard moved with his family to St. George, Utah in November of 1976. After completing his education Richard embarked on an 18-month voluntary service mission for his church in central Louisiana. Following his mission service in early 1983 Richard began his entrepreneurial experience by starting an office supply company. Later that year he purchased a fledgling classified ad newspaper and ran both companies until late 1985 when he sold the newspaper to expand the office supply business and add copier sales and service to his product offerings. Over the years Richard has also been involved in other related businesses such as IT service companies. Today Richard still owns and operates a successful office equipment company that is currently selling and servicing a full line of Xerox office equipment and Okidata wide format graphics and engineering printing equipment. prestonoffice.com
In 2012 Richard began looking for diversification and new challenges. After hearing an ad on XM radio for a senior care business looking for master franchisees he made the call and talked to Michael at Golden Heart Senior Care. After several months of due diligence, he purchased the Master Franchise rights for the state of Utah. In 2014, he sold his first franchise in St. George, Utah. In late May 2017 Richard began the process of acquiring the St. George, Utah franchise. Richard and his team are learning the processes and working towards making the St. George franchise the senior care leader in southern Utah as well as within Golden Heart Senior Care franchise community.
Richard is blessed with four wonderful children, two of which work in the businesses with him. His oldest daughter and her husband have blessed him with two unbelievably amazing grandkids. He loves spending time with his family. He is very active in fitness and outdoor activities and makes time, usually 5 days a week, for vigorous exercise.
Richard is committed to the further growth of his office equipment company, developing Golden Heart Senior Care franchises in northern Utah and now growing his GHSC franchise in southern Utah to provide opportunities for him, his family and as many others as possible.
